Sea Mar Fiestas Patrias, presented by Sea Mar Community Health Centers, Is a celebration of Latino culture and commemorates the independence of different countries within the Latin America region, many of which celebrate their national independence day in the month of September.
It is a festival to celebrate our history while taking pride in the new generations of Latinos that now call the United States home.

Learn how to make mole! A traditional Mexican sauce enjoyed throughout the nation. Although many regions may have their own recipe and style, this video shows the roots of its creation and the uses as a great meal.
Make your own baleadas at home! This is a traditional Honduran dish composed of a flour tortilla, filled with mashed fried red beans and thick cream. It originates from the north coast of the country and many other people add sausage, plantain, hot sauce, avocado, chicken, pork or chismol which is diced tomato, onion and bell pepper.
Chiles rellenos are stuffed peppers filled with ground meat and other ingredients. This very traditional Guatemalan dish is very popular among the locals and has styled to their national spices and flavor profiles.
Sopaipilla is a fried pastry and a type of quick bread served in several regions with Spanish heritage in the Americas. In Chile, sopaipillas are traditionally homemade and eaten during days of heavy rain. They are also enjoyed as a popular street food.
Lomo saltado is a popular, traditional Peruvian dish, a stir fry that typically combines marinated strips of sirloin (or other beef steak) with onions, tomatoes, french fries, and other ingredients; and is typically served with rice. The dish originated as part of the chifa tradition, the Chinese cuisine of Peru, though its popularity has made it part of the mainstream culture.
A perfect drink for warm weather and a dessert afterwards! El Salvador's fresco de ensalada is the type of recipe where you can add your favorite fruits so feel free to have fun with the flavours! You can add herbs like mint or other fruits like cucumbers.
